We collect information for three reasons:

  • We collect this information so that we can send purchasers the books they have ordered and collect the payment due.
  • We collect information about our authors so that we can pay them their royalties
  • We have a legitimate interest in marketing our latest books to schools and to individuals who have expressed an interest in our books and who have consented to receive marketing information from us.

 

What information is collected?

Purchasers and prospective purchasers. We may collect your email, your postal address, your telephone number, your interests in the resources we publish, and your purchases. We hold this information securely electronically. We may collect credit card information by phone or in person but this is immediately passed to PayPal through a secure link, who process all our credit card transactions. It is not stored in any form by Brilliant Publications Limited. We don’t collect credit card information on our website – purchasers using the website are transferred to the secure PayPal website before they are asked for their payment details.

Authors. We collect your email, your postal address, and details of the royalties we have paid. We hold this information securely electronically. We collect details of your bank account so that we can pay your royalties and this is stored securely electronically.

We track visitors to our website through the use of cookies to analyse trends and public interest in our products and services, administer the site and gather information for aggregate use. The information we gather in this way is anonymous and is not linked to personal information from which you or your computer can be identified.

We track people responding to marketing emails and hold their email address and other details they provide (address, telephone number, any resources they have downloaded) securely and electronically.

 

How will we use your information?

Brilliant Publications Limited will use your information for fulfilling your orders, collecting payments due and sending you marketing information.

We may contact you by post or email to let you know about goods, services or promotions which may be of interest to you. If you do not want to receive such information from us please tick the relevant box on any of our forms or contact us at any time at customer-services@brilliantpublications.co.uk

 

With whom will we share your information?

We will disclose your information to our book distributors, Trade Counter Distribution Ltd, so that they can dispatch your orders, and if you’re not paying by credit card, so that they can send you an invoice and contact you if you don’t pay on time. We share your email and postal address with our Marketing Distributors, if you have given permission, for the sole purpose of sending you information about the resources we publish. This information is held electronically and securely. We will NOT sell or rent to third parties the information collected from you except in the event that this part of Brilliant Publications Limited’s business is transferred to a new owner, in which case your details will be transferred to that owner as part of that business transfer.

We may keep your information for a reasonable period to contact you about our resources. If you would rather that your details were NOT used in these ways, please contact us at any time at customer-services@brilliantpublications.co.uk or click the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of our emails.

In the case of bookshops and other trade accounts who may request credit terms, we may search the files of credit reference agencies, who may record the search. Information may be shared with other credit grantors and used for making credit decisions, fraud prevention and occasionally for tracing debtors.

 

How can you correct the information we hold about you?

If your personally identifiable information changes (such as your postcode), or if you no longer want us to hold your information, please contact us at any time at customer-services@brilliantpublications.co.uk and we will correct, update or remove your personal data accordingly.

You have a right to ask for a copy of your information which we will provide to you promptly and to correct any inaccuracies.
