Description
Learn French with Luc et Sophie 1ère Partie Storybook Pack, by Barbara Scanes, contains 14 original, fun stories, written entirely in French. These stories, written for children starting to learn French in Years 3–4, use repetitive phrases and simple sentences to introduce key vocabulary, grammar and language structures meaning children can easily bring the information to mind when they need to.
Not only will children love the engaging, full-colour pictures in each mini 8-page book, they will also enjoy being able to read a storybook in French. Imagine the boost to their confidence and self-esteem this will bring and how this will carry forward into other school subjects.
Each story features a young brother (Luc) and sister (Sophie) and their friends and family. Children will relate to the stories and enjoy the humorous twist at the end. The more memorable the stories are, the easier it will be for children to bring the vocabulary, grammar and language structures to the fore as required.
Each book has a reproducible black and white picture inside the back cover to colour with speech bubbles for children to fill in. This will help develop their speaking and writing skills.
The topics and grammar focus covered by the stories include;
Unité 1 Bonjour (commands – imperative tense)
Unité 2 Je m’appelle Sophie (subject pronouns: je and tu)
Unité 3 Combien de biscuits ? (avoir – 1st person singular, plurals)
Unité 4 J’ai six ans (avoir – 1st and 2nd person singular – when talking about age)
