Description
When Jonathan discovers he is going to have to move house and school because of his Dad’s job he is terrified. He reacts to this by being destructive and disobedient, but quickly learns that this causes more problems than it solves. Acting out is no way to deal with change.
Jonathan becomes very upset with himself, and it is the empathy and care provided by his mother and his teachers that help him to accept the situation. The age-old adage ‘a problem shared is a problem halved’ comes into play here.
Jonathan finds out his mother is nervous about the move too, and he realises that he and his family are in this together. This unity gives him hope and he ends up welcoming the prospect of new adventures with open arms and “Miles of Smiles”.
