What’s been happening at Brilliant Publications? (22 September 2022)

New cover for updated series!

We love this illustration by Gaynor Berry for the new edition of Brilliant Activities for Reading Comprehension, Year 2 (coming out next year). We hope you do too!

It’s been eight years since the last edition was published and we felt it was time to refresh it. The biggest change is to the questions. The new edition will include multiple choice, matching and labelling activities and more short response questions, to give pupils practice with answering these types of question. Furthermore, the ‘Extension work’ sections are being completely revamped to ensure that there are lots of opportunities for differentiation and for stretching more able children.

In addition, the new books will contain lots of new, specially written passages. Some of these new passages relate other subject areas, such as the piece on the Great Fire of London, which is illustrated on the cover below.

Thank you for your support!

One of the features I like about Facebook is that you are reminded of things that happened in previous years. Today I had the lovely reminder that a year ago Brilliant Publications won the ‘Education Publlisher of the Year’ award.

We couldn’t have done this without all of our loyal customers, not to mention our brilliant staff, authors, freelancers, illustrators and other suppliers – so thank you very much for your support!

Don’t forget  – our birthday discount is running until the end of September

It’s been 29 years since we published our first book, How to be Brilliant at Writing Stories.

To celebrate, we are offering a 29% discount on all books purchased from our website between now and the end of September. This is a great bargain, so make sure to share the discount code (we-are-29) with all your friends.
