What’s been happening at Brilliant Publications?

It’s been a fairly routine week in the office this week

I’m very pleased to say that an engineer was able to fix our boiler on Monday, so we no longer need to wear quite so many jumpers and thick socks!

On Wednesday we had our annual safety inspection check, which we passed with flying colours. We took the opportunity to have a much needed tidy up, so the office is looking much smarter now.

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who are celebrating

It is Thanksgiving today in the United States. I always loved Thanksgiving as a child as it was a wonderful opportunity to get together with my cousins. All the family would gather at my grandparents and everyone would bring food. One year we famously ended up with three turkeys as our wires got somewhat crossed!

As I now live in the UK, we’re going to have our Thanksgiving meal on Sunday.

It is always good to take time to think about how many things one has to be grateful for.  Many in the world aren’t so lucky.

As Oprah Winfrey said:

 “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

For the past two years Covid has made it near impossible for schools to put on Christmas nativities and plays. So it’s nice to hear that they are back on the school calendar.

Having said that, I know how hard it is to juggle rehearsals and costume fittings with making presents and cards for parents and practising Christmas carols – while at the same time not ignoring curriculum subjects. You have my full admiration!
