What is a bookworm?

Kate Heap, our author of the month, is sure she is a bookworm.

In her author facts on our home page she shares some insights into who she is.

‘I am the definition of a bookworm – I always have at least one book on the go and a large stack waiting to be read. I’m so fortunate to be a regular children’s book reviewer for a number of publishers, sharing books on my blog Scope for Imagination. In 2022, I read and reviewed over 300 books!’

How many books do you read in a year?

Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction?

Can you imagine reviewing them all?

Kate has written the Developing Reading Comprehension Skills series of books for primary age children. The books cover Classic Children’s Literature, Classic Poetry, Contemporary Children’s Literature and Non-fiction.

Each carefully selected passage or poem is accompanied by eight sets of questions based on the Key Stage 1 question types or Key Stage 2 (KS2) Reading Content Domains.
