What’s new at Brilliant Publications? (2nd June 2022)

I hope all our UK customers are enjoying the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend! Here is what happened on the three days we were in the office.

We’ve signed the contracts for 2 new titles!

Ever since the first books in Kate Heap’s Developing Reading Comprehension Skills series were launched, we’ve had requests to extend the series down to Year 2, enabling schools to have a consistent approach to reading comprehension throughout the school.

We’ve listened to your requests!

I’m delighted to let you know that Kate Heap has agreed to write two new books for Year 2, one covering children’s literature and poetry and the other non-fiction. The books will have similar text types, question styles and links to the reading content domains as the other books in the series and will help with preparation for Key Stage 1 SATs in Year 2 as well as transition from Year 2 to Year 3.

These books will be published in 2023.

Do you like the sound of your own voice?

I must admit that I don’t like listening recordings of myself. However, this week I was sent a copy of a podcast I did for the Independent Publishers Guild, talking about the IPA Education Publisher of the Year Award that we won in 2021. I thought I’d share it with you, in the hope that you’ll find my voice less cringe-y than I do!
