What’s been happening at Brilliant Publications?

Our new spelling books have gone to the printers!

I’m delighted to say that the latest two books in the Boost Spelling Skills series have gone to the printers. I am looking forward to seeing printed copies in a couple of weeks.

What’s my word?

Thanks for David Horner, author of Cracking Creative Writing in KS1Cracking Creative Writing in KS2 and Cracking English Grammar in KS2 for this great word game. (It reminds me a bit of Wordle…)

For this game you need a partner.

Player 1 chooses a word with no more than 5 letters and tells Player 2 exactly how many letters are in the chosen word.

Player 2 now says words that have the given number of letters.

After each guess, Player 1 must tell Player 2 if any of the letters in the guessed word are in the chosen word – and where in the word they appear. Player 2 notes down the information given and then has another guess.

You can set a limit of how many guesses a Player allowed in each round before they swap roles, or you can let the Players decide for themselves.

It’s nearly springtime!

It’s a bit cloudy today, but it definitely feels like springtime is nearly here in Edlesborough. We are looking forward to seeing lambs!

With best wishes for next week!
